Wrangell Fire Department
Wrangell, Alaska
Wrangell, Alaska is one of the most scenic
areas in the state. Located on an island south of Juneau,
commercial fishing provides the livelihood for the 2,000
people who live there. But even as a small community, Wrangell
rightly boasts about the quality of services available to
its residents, including its excellent fire department. Made
up almost exclusively of volunteers, the department fights
fires, provides emergency medical services and conducts search-and-rescue
